The Phoenix Healthcare Foundation is dedicated to put into action effective solutions to eliminate existing disparities in the health status and delivery of healthcare and to assure excellence in public health practices.

Our Vision

The Phoenix Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit organization which seeks to improve the health status of the socially and economically disadvantaged residing in Miami-Dade.

The Problem

Proposed health care reforms are an important change agent in the effort to improve the healthcare delivery system, but the quality of health care in poor and minority communities will continue to be compromised because the reforms do not address the lack of sufficient community-based healthcare resources including hospitals, and clinics and private health care providers.

This problem will continue to be aggravated by the absence of incentives for the private healthcare providers to practice in undeserved areas and the lack of disease prevention and health maintenance initiatives.

The Solution

PHF addresses some of the present and future challenges facing populations not receiving effective health-related outreach and treatment services by partnering with community-based organizations, hospitals and clinics to develop and implement grass root health education initiatives, dedicated to improve and sustain the health and well-being of the uninsured and undeserved.
